hatha yoga

I teach Integral Style Hatha, which integrates the asanas (physical) with pranayama (breath), meditation, and yoga nidra: a 15-minute guided relaxation that enables the student to consciously experience a state of deep rest and profound peace.

The term Hatha yoga actually encompasses any physical aspect of yoga, but in terms of class descriptions it also denotes a slower, more meditative style of practice. Poses are held for longer to allow the student time to deepen their awareness of different levels of being - the body, the breath, and the mind. Importance is placed on balancing effort with comfort in each pose, without using undue force or strain. Resting in between poses is encouraged to assimilate the benefits. It's an ideal introduction to yoga for beginners, but equally suitable for more experienced yogis who want to deepen their practice.
